Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it. My mom was my inspiration. She was the lead singer of one of the first trio rock-n-roll girl groups of the 1960's and was eventually signed to Warner Bros Records. She and her sisters toured with The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, Bobby "Borris" Pickett of "Monster Mash" fame and The Temptations. I began learning the drums at age 10, was playing in honor bands and orchestras by age 12, and eventually gravitated toward writing my own songs by the age of 16. My mom retired from the music business in the late 1960's, she never forced my brothers and me to learn music but always had music playing in the house so it kind of rubbed off on me. Learning a musical instrument and singing came naturally to me and I owe a big part of that to my mom.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career? On 5/20/17, my first official release SAVAGE featuring Trey Songz topped the Digital Radio Tracker National Airplay Top 50 R&B/Hip-hop Chart at #9 and the Top 150 Independent Chart at #3

What has been the high point of your music path?
Same answer as Question 2. In addition, many up and coming independent artists have contacted me via social media to help them with their careers. I've been more than happy to give them advice on what they can do to promote themselves, what to avoid, etc.
So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
First of all, my inspiration has come from life experiences. I can't write about something unless I know about it. Lyrics of my songs reflect past relationships, the good, the bad, and the ugly in my life. Hopefully, fans can relate to what has happened in my life and either share in the experience, or avoid the pitfalls...
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?
Biggest challenge in the music business, there is so much competition with all the home studios out there and it's hard to be heard! It's like Darwin's theory of evolution so to speak, "only the strong will survive." If you have the talent, you have to have the endurance and persistence to succeed as well. You have to push you way to the top and not let anyone discourage you along the way!
If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?
That would have to be Lil Wayne and Drake! I admire the fact that Weezy got started at an early age, he had both the talent and persistence to succeed! Not only that, he recognizes talent in others and signed Drake who went on to record and sell millions of records! Those two artists right there inspired me to do what I do!
What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?
Haven't done a live show in years! I'd love to if given the right opportunity
Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it! I'd have to say my latest single "Show Me feat KevinK" was probably the most difficult to write considering the success of my single "Savage feat Trey Songz" which has been the most successful track I've recorded to date.
What's coming up in the future?
I'd love for one of my songs to hit the Billboard Top 100 Charts! Hopefully with the exposure here, I'll be able to achieve that goal! In addition, it'd be cool to have one of my singles on a TV show, a film, commercial or video game.
