Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.
Yes, my grandma. She often played and sang for us so I looked at her fingers and hoped that I one day I would learn these chords A, D and G . But I remembered how difficult I thought it was.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?
Did a gig in a kiss tribute band many years ago and my amp started smoke and burn. I have to plug in my guitar in the clean bass amp together with "Gene". It sounded weird, like a country guitar Playing Parasite Lady, Cold Gin and Strutter and act like a rock n roll star. Now I really can laugh at that moment.
What has been the high point of your music path?
Meeting and start working with my new record/publishing company Mervilton records (US)
So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
It comes in so many different ways. Sometimes easy and sometimes I have to get really patience with myself. I think being patience is the most important thing for me. Also to let go and I don't try to think too much when I write at the beginning. I often sit with my guitar and sing and play and accept what comes first to me
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?
Just have an open mind and see the potential in the long run and I really think my record company sees that. And knowing people want to hear something new
If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?
There are so man fantastic musicians out there. But I have to say Bob Dylan. Because he's so grounded and at the same time flying like a free bird in the clouds. Singing for people just to get them happier. That's at least what I think
What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?
I like it when so much as you can be improvising. Like song orders and even what kind of chords you play and how we phrase the vocals. But when that said, I know that I'm a jerk If I don’t tell my musicians some things. But I want the attitude and the way we approach the songs to be as free as possibly. Freedom to do what you want and don’t have any rules
Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!
I think it was my first song .Called " you and me" Just because you haven't done anything like this before and maybe you are afraid to fail. Then after a while you just like it when it sound weird and odd
What's coming up in the future?
A full lenght album (Waterland) will soon be released on Mervilton records by Allwin. I also just about to start recording my third album. Who will be called "Joy"
