And in 2016, "No Woman's Face Remember", a short film she stars in, went to Cannes Film Festival. Three separate European film festivals nominating her for "Best Lead Actress In A Short Film", for her performance of a small town good girl, gone bad.
A prolific recording artist in multiple genres, Angelica has produced country, rock, pop, r&b, soul, and hip hop albums. Between June and October of 2016, she independently produced five singles and three music videos in her "Heal the World" series. In 2018, Angelica began production of her self written, self produced, and self directed television series titled "Rollercoaster". She stars in this quirky, music filled comedy with her husband, Ian Paul Cassidy. Angelica Cassidy is one of the featured artists on BWH Music Group's upcoming album, Keepin' It Country.
What is the name of the song you have on ‘Keepin’ It Country, Vol. One’?
"Ask My Daddy"
What is the inspiration behind your song? Or what is your song about? "Ask My Daddy" was inspired by my love for my Dad, and how much I wanted his blessing for my marriage. Every woman who is, or ever was, a Daddy's girl, can understand the importance of her fathers blessing for her future husband.
How did you write your featured song? Or can you describe your songwriting process? I sat down one day, and wrote it in about ten minutes. It was an easy one, straight from the heart. I had my track ready, and we recorded it the same day.
If you could share the stage with one Country artist, who would it be?! Oh Boy, Just one?? hmmm.. I would be so thrilled to share the stage with Florida Georgia Line, Tim and Faith, and Alan Jackson. Sorry, I had to say three lol.
Who or what has inspired you the most in your music career? My father. He taught me to sing. He taught me to write. He got my musical ears tuning from a very young age. And he's been my continued inspiration into my adult life. His support is the only reason I'm where I am now.
How did you first get introduced to Country music? Or what made you decide to pursue Country music? My Dad used to sing country songs with his guitar to me when I was very young. I think country has always held a special place in my heart, and it's always been my favorite genre to write.
Of the songs you have written, which one was the most challenging to write and why? I wrote a song about my fathers accident once. He was hit by a car as a pedestrian, and almost died.. It was too hard to sing it, so I never recorded it.
Where do you live and how is the Country music scene there!? I live I Los Angeles, Ca … the country music scene needs a bit of help around here...
So, what’s coming up in the future? I am currently submitting ROLLERCOASTER The Pilot, which is the pilot episode of my TV series I'm producing, to the festival circuit. The series is based on the writing of ROLLERCOASTER the album, with each episode in the first season coinciding with each single on the album. I wrote the album specifically to be the soundtrack to the show. The TV show is a feel good comedy, sarcastic and awkward, and it follows the main character Angelica (played by me), through her crazy life in LA. It highlights the ups and downs of Hollywood, being a starving artist, and falling in love, in all its craziness.
