Bran L - 10 Questions Interview

Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.

When I was younger, my father played a bunch of old school hip hop, rock, such as artists of 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Bone Thugs N’ Harmony, Nirvana, Green Day, and the list goes on. I got these inspirations when my friend came across my poetry and told me hey you should be a rapper, so I was like ok, at first, then I got into the studio and recorded my first song, that’s how I got into writing and recording my own music.

Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?

Nothing much, the only thing that happened was that my SoundCloud page blew up earlier this month, and I racked in 3,160,000 plays total on SoundCloud with 24,905 followers, on my page, my YouTube profile has about 10,000 views total, my Spotify averages about 113 monthly listeners.

What has been the high point of your music path?

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic my creativity went through the roof during my quarantining the past couple of months, my work ethic to put my music out there has increased.

So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?

I like to write lyrics that have meaning, I like to rhyme with certain syllables, I like tell stories in my music, especially when it comes to helping people deal with their lives.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?

Earning money in the industry

If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?

I would like to share the stage with Eminem, because he is such a big inspiration to me and his music influenced me to write certain songs about certain topics.

What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?

I haven’t done any shows yet.

Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!

The Greatest because it was such a personal song to me, it explains to be the best you can possibly be and nothing can get in your way, it took me about 2 months to complete, a whole week to write, so on and so forth.

What's coming up in the future?

I’m working on a couple singles at the moment nothing too major.
