Evan Pietrzak

Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.

I was inspired by many artists to write music. They consisted of Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Kesha, and many more. I love how open and honest their lyrics are and that they speak to so many people in different ways.

Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?

Getting to perform at the Super Bowl XL this past February. That was so exciting and such a fun experience that I will never forget.

What has been the high point of your music path?

Being able to touch so many people's hearts and to make a positive impact in their lives.

So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?

Normally, I will be going through something or have experienced something and the feelings I felt in that moment I usually write down in my notes app on my phone and start documenting what I'm doing in the present moment. Or, I will listen to my fans and see what they're going through and write down their feelings to make the song speak personally to them.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?

The biggest challenge is the lack of compensation for artists. The modern day streaming world has caused a lack in fair compensation to artists that have spent countless hours writing and producing art that works very well yet are not compensated fairly. Therefore, physical album and vinyl sales have decreased making it harder for artists especially Indie artists to make a comfortable income.

If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?

I would want to share the stage with Lady Gaga. She is so much fun to watch and her and I have similar music that would fit well with our audiences.

What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?

My rehearsals are like boot camp. I am working from start to finish. Sometimes I can be told that I am over-rehearsing but I just want to give my audience the best possible show.

Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!

This one, Disco Night. I was feeling lost and hopeless during quarantine and I just thought we'd never get out of it. Then in my mind I decided to write a song about instead of worrying and getting all worked up over it since I know it is something I really can't control.

What's coming up in the future?

More music, more concerts, and hopefully touring again.

Tell us where fans can access your music?
