FSG's album, "Ambition Over Fear" was the 2020 W.A.M. Award Winner for Best Rap/Hip Hop album.

Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it. The catalyst for me writing music would be when I was in 3rd grade. I moved to a different city and was always in trouble in school. This gave me a lot of time which resulted in me writing rhymes in a notepad.

Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career? The craziest thing that has happened to me in my music career so far has to be granted a meeting with Atlantic Records about a year or so ago.

What has been the high point of your music path? The high point of my music career has been my last album releasing, my last album is my best album to date called “More Than A Rapper.” I’ve had a lot of things that I’ve done up until now but releasing my most recent album was the best because of the feedback.

So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like? My songwriting process is I search for beats. Once I’ve found a beat I like, I buy it and then I write two different songs for it. After writing two different versions, I record both in my voice memos. I listen to the song for a couple days then decide if I’m going to keep it or not.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be? The biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today is knowing who to trust and where to put your money. There are a lot of people that promise things they can’t deliver and as an independent artist it’s hard to tell who’s being truthful and who’s not.

If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why? I would love to share the stage with Pop Smoke because of the crowds he attracts. The way his crowds respond to his music is the energy I want close to me.

What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show? My rehearsals are usually me going over the set twice with talking the lyrics out loud. Me going through practices on how to crowd control, practicing my positioning and also making sure the show mix/mic is right.

Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it! The song that was the greatest challenge for me to write was “F**k a Grammy”. It was a challenge for me because I wanted to give off a message that you don’t need validation as long as you believe in what you’re doing and you can be great without receiving the credit. Since I’m an artist I immediately thought of the Grammy’s because some of my favorite artist don’t have Grammys but I believe some of their work deserves them.

What's coming up in the future? What’s coming in the future is a lot more singles and a lot of features from bigger artists. I’ve worked with some well known artists but now I want to work with the top artists.

Tell us where fans can access your music? Anybody that wants to support me can find my music on Apple Music, YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Tidal etc.
