Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.
I've been writing music my whole life, but the real "catalyst" was the beginning of the COVID-19 global crisis when I decided to write about everything that was in my mind. As I can speak fluently in 6 languages, I used my knowledge and the inspiration to write the "Songs for the World." The world lives in difficult times now, and these songs are here to bring us on the right path.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?
The way in which the songs came to me is something crazy. Although I was playing and singing in various bands before, wrote many songs and performed on various concerts, I've never experienced such an inspiration before. So it is definitely the craziest thing so far and I hope that many people will recognize it.
What has been the high point of your music path?
In the music path there have been many ups and downs through my life, but I feel that my high point is yet to come. The world needs positive energy, the melodies and the lyrics that I will present.
So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
There are always some melodies that are going through my head. If I feel that something has potential, I take my guitar and play along. First I make the guitar part and the vocal melodies, then the lyrics and after that the other instruments start to come on it's place, first in my head and then in reality.
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?
I think that it is a lot of hard work behind all the music if you want your music to be heard. If you do not commit yourself to market your music, it's difficult to succeed even if you have the best song. Maybe with a bigger budget and the right contacts it's easier, but I think just as in any other business, hard work, professionalism, making connections and a bit of luck can give you some kind of success. And of course good music. If I could ask to change something, it would be
If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?
It would be Sting. I have a lot of artists that I like and that have influenced my musical development, but I think Sting is open for various genres and languages just as I am, so I think we could make something good together as well.
What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?
As I am currently working with great musicians and nice people, the rehearsals are very enjoyable and all the ideas that I have together with their ideas are easy to realize. After changing many bands and working with different people, I'm glad to have some of the best Croatian musicians on my side. Through my life, I have had many smaller concerts, and as I was also a professional tennis player and a professional coach; the live shows are a big motivation for me. I like to be in front of people and to spread the positive energy. There is no special way how do I prepare, it just comes out of me everything that I have inside, all the emotions.
Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!
The song "Save the World Today" was a greatest challenge to write. It is a song for all the people around the world and I wanted it to sound very catchy with memorable lyrics, because it's a strong message inside of it. As English is not my native language, I struggled to find the right words, but in the end I think that together with my producer Olja Desic we did a good job.
What's coming up in the future?
I have big plans for the future, but I've learned that patience is what we musicians always need. I'm releasing a new song in Portuguese language on the 2nd of October. The song is called "Vamos ser feliz" (let's be happy :-)). After that, in November, the song "Save The World Today" comes out.
I have songs in 6 languages and I plan to release a new song every 6-8 weeks.
y main goal is to spread a lot of positive energy throughout the world with music and to send the message of togetherness. If the people will recognize and accept the songs and the message as I expect, I'm open for everything. The world needs some changes and I'm here to help many people.
