JB.DAMESENJAH - 10 Questions Interview

Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.

It's just came in my younger days I used to beatbox in bathrooms in school and free style inspired by groups like Fatboyz, BDP and movies like "Krush Grooving," "Beat Street" and "House Party."

Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?

Drove miles and miles to do shows . Thinking it was gonna be a really nice event only for it to be a complete dud.

What has been the high point of your music path?

In 2002 In a group called OHE we were hitting on all cylinders .Playing on multiple stations I had A&Rs on the phone knowing them on first name basis. Building up a good fan base.

So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?

I truly have learned how to rely on God's lead. One I hear the track I wait for the melody once I hear that I pour out from the heart.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?

If anything I would say give them that have a positive message as much as is giving to the negative messages. The word has a thing for negativity violence sales sex sales but a positive alternative is lightly promoted.

If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?

I gonna have to reach back for this one and say 2pac Shakur. The misunderstood rapper had a message that was bigger then his self that how I feel today!

What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?

Me and my wife Serenity just vibe out and enjoy ourself let it flow!

Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!

The song on the album called "Keep Living" which is dedicated to my wife mother and my mother in love. It was tough she was our biggest fan and past away last December. RIP Mama Lois Delk

What's coming up in the future?

We're working on Serenity's project next while promoting this album a full year at least and see what happens from there.
