Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.
As a child I always wanted to be a famous dancer, then later on I started really liking singing so when I gave my life back to Jesus the desire to worship him came so naturally and it made me so happy and fulfilled every time I worshiper him. My younger Brother Brian and the Bible was my inspiration. I was hanging out with one of my friends and we were listening to hip hop beats and started rapping and singing scriptures from the Bible with the track. It was so natural and organic. I loved it - that’s always been my style prophetic tequila praises to God. Even real life experiences to is how I write music.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?
I traveled to Nigeria on a mission trip the experience, exposure we’re I worship at “ Church on Fire International” for the first time and I didn’t know anyone out there. But My father and mentor Rev. Dr. David Philemon help me book some places so I could minister out there. Another instance when I went to Nashville, I met 5 grammIt and it was one of the most exciting experiences and times of my life.
Also, I worked with award nominee Billy Smiley who helped me produce my first worship album titled “My Worship Diaries.” Sometimes you have to step out into faith walk on water for your dream and destiny and trust that God will have someone on the other side waiting on you to help you. God did that for me; why not he do it for you to

What has been the high point of your music path?
Singing and ministering in Nigeria - they loved it!
Being able to record my first Worship album in Dark Horse Studio in Nashville, TN , and
I was nominated best female vocalist of the year!
So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
I usually hear a song through conversations, through messages in church, and when I hear different sounds or beats, I can just pick a topic and write based off the knowledge I have about the topic. Like I wrote a song about my son called “Khahyil”; it was easy to write because I love him so much and I write about who I love.
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?
The biggest challenge is I would like to open up with other Christian artists similar or better than me so I can have that mentorship, exposure, and experience. What I would change if I had the power is to allow new Christian artists like me a good start by putting on a movement campaign together for more people to know you and subscribe to my channel because doing everything myself is challenging. I need help as I can’t do this on my own.
Marketing, promoting, and book myself while recording, practicing, and building and developing myself as an artist. My mind is responsible for too many hats, so I would like to have a Launch Team that would help me campaign myself properly by setting up gigs, dates etc. and helping me promote the new EP album I just released. I also would like to tour with popular gospel artists who are already on tour so I can develop a good relationship with them open up for them.
If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?
I would like to share the stage with Jenny Weaver, Tasha Cobbs, Adrienne Bynum Terry, Jj Hairston, Tim Godfrey, Ada, Sinach, Johnathan McReynolds, Jo Praise, mercy Chinowa, Kanye West, Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Maddie Rey, Steven Malcolm, Toby MAC, Sade, Beyonce
What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?
I like to practice late at night sometimes 5-hour rehearsals. Sometimes I use the performance track or I’ll use a band if they're available.
Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!
I wrote a song and recorded a song in Nigeria called “Baba Esha.” I wanted it to be perfect so I kept listening to other people's Afro-beats and then I couldn’t come up with anything until I went to the studio with the other artist and we all collaborated and wrote the song together! Writing songs for Celebrities!
What's coming up in the future?
Music and Book Tours, Movies soundtrack opportunities, Acting, building music Schools in Nigeria, books, tv shows, kid's albums, writing songs for celebrities, a clothing line, and a makeup line.
