Rice is co-owner of Hustle Work Grind Records. Straight out if Webster Ma. Rice began this journey in 2017, and continues to be strong in his community as a leader.

Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.

Separation from my biological family , was the catalyst that started me to writing , and this was a suggestion by my foster brother whom was writing music who was also separated from his family. It was an emotional outlet that helped me to survive a temporary situation . It wasn’t until I was supposed to manage my brother M-Ezy, and sitting in on one of his sessions that I was inspired to get in the booth .

I’ve always had a passion for writing however I didn’t know if I had the same passion for recording .

The rest is unfolding because I fell in love with the creativity behind the recording process .

Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?

The craziest thing that’s happened thus far happened a few years ago, when my brother M-Ezy and I signed up for coast to coast , literally if you can find the pictures we look like 2 deer in headlights and that day no one could have told us we didn’t belong in that moment on that stage. It’s the craziest moment because we learned a lot about how unprepared we were however it was a lesson that if you’re practice and stay performance ready .

What has been the high point of your music path?

This year has been some really high points from being nominated by Street Fame Magazine as Best Hiphop Artist , to winning Best Hiphop live performance from Poze Radio, charting in the UK iTunes Charts to , two sizzling songs of summer per WNIR Round it Up, Rice ft JMuzique , Pyskasolar, Majesty and No Brady Rice ft JMuzique to making on top 10 songs for No Brady on WNIR. This year continues to come with surprises and if fans stay tuned more will be revealed .

So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?

Creating a melody , to the words to my creative process . My music is inspired by my experiences whether it’s directly or from my own perspective .

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?

The biggest challenges that independent artist face , is the lack of connection and working together . Limited Finances for independent artist is a given , however every independent artist process resources and if independent artist shared resources more , it could literally alleviate some of the financial disparages. The industry is changing however are independent artist taking the time on the business aspect to research changes which could be beneficial to independent artist.

What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?

We now always prepare for a live performance but if you stay ready which is always rehearsing you’ll have to never worry about getting ready.

Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!

The latest songs unreleased songs such as Petty Love is a big challenge , because I literally have to bring everything to that track that I felt in a moment in time so that my audience can feel the disappointment and raw emotions behind the song. My past songs skirt emotions and the music im currently working on delves into some raw emotions and disappointment.

What's coming up in the future?

We can always make plans but it doesn’t always turn out the way we planned . However im working on a couple of projects Riding With Blindfolds and Love shouldn’t cost a thing with no date in sight for the release.
