Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.
There is only one being. God.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?
The craziest thing that ever happened in my career is probably being able to sing with the Goo Goo Dolls and having a guitar delivered to my house on Christmas Day from Johnny Reznik with mine and all the band members names on it. It was so exiting and even crazy!
What has been the high point of your music path?
To share the gospel of Christ to the world and convert as many as possible before it’s too late.
So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
Well, it's a process...step 1: God puts the song idea in my head. Step 2: I write the song. Step 3: I think of a title. Step 4: my songwriting helper Neville helps me polish it. Step 5: me and my engineer Jimmy create a track, then I record it, put it on a album and make a music video!
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?
Knowing how to market your music! Writing songs, recording and singing comes easy for me. But finding my audience and marketing my songs is a bit more challenging. I think there are a lot of ways to get your music out there with all the music platforms, but I want the people who really loves my message to be able to find my music! I still trying to figure that out.
If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?
Carrie Underwood! She is so inspiring to me, and I would love to sing with her!
What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?
Well, most of the time a singing couch helps me practice. Then before I go on stage I always pray and ask God to use my music to uplift others. I want my music to bring people joy, peace and love!
Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!
To be honest... it was my first song called, “I Need Your Love” because I had to deal with letting all my emotions out in the process. It’s about how life can at times be stressful but if you look to God, he can turn everything around and even give you a new life! When I wrote it, I was dealing with a lot if emotions. I think there are probably other children that don’t know how to deal with emotions too. That’s why I want them to know how much God loves them.
What's coming up in the future?
I have my first original new album with twelve songs I wrote on it coming out this year and I’m really excited for that! It’s called “Be Light”!

About Sam Pio
"I’m a Christian recording artist, songwriter, and actor devoted to the gospel of Christ and will do anything for God and His Glory.
I love being God's Messenger for He is my inspiration behind my music and all I do. I couldn't do anything without His guidance. Each day I pray for God's Holy Spirit to fill me and lead me! I feel so BLESSED to be able to do what I love. That's why I just had to release my first album, "Be Blessed", available April 30, 2021.
I pray my music blesses you and brings you into a closer relationship with God. I also hope you are inspired to become all that God created you to be.
With all of this going on, some of my favorite things in life are the simple joys- my family, my pets, and just being a kid. Some of the best days are filled with playdates with friends, visiting local parks and zoos, being creative, and having fun.
I’m all about spreading joy, sharing kindness, having fun, and shining my light- and I would be thrilled to have you join me on my journey!"
