Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.
No one told me that I should start writing music. I’ve always been extremely poetic with my writing. My sister is actually a writer/author and has written many essays and books. I always wondered if I take after her with my writing songs. I’ve always been writing since I was 11 years old. I am definitely inspired by many songwriters such as Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Katy Perry. When I was younger, I was inspired by Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, but it was really always me and my own thoughts. I would always just write whatever I was thinking or went through down in my notes and eventually put it to lyrics. And I never stopped.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?
Having my song “Catch Me I’m Falling” number 1 on the indie pop charts this year and having it become over 1 million impressions in stores. Also, becoming verified on Spotify artists which I never thought would happen. The music video is almost at 100k views on YouTube!
What has been the high point of your music path?
Everything I mentioned previously as well as when I was finally looked at as an artist and those people believed in me.
So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
I just write what I go through. My personal experiences. I just take my thoughts and situations and write them down. I do have people who have helped me with my songwriting process but the concept and words are all me.
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?
I would just say to give more attention to the small upcoming artists since we are overlooked. The big artists out there have gotten so much of the spotlight already and they are all amazing but it’s time for us to be able to shine.
If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?
Miley Cyrus or Olivia Rodrigo. Miley Cyrus probably if she was back in her 2000s era because I loved that pop/rock sound and Olivia Rodrigo because her music is so relatable and she is definitely an inspiration to young girls out there. Plus, she is so fun!!!
What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?
My gosh how I wish I can answer this question! I hope a live show will happen soon!!!
Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!
I think any of my more fun dance pop/rock originals were slightly more difficult just because it was more of the concept I came up with. I had help with writing the song. For the more emotional songs, my experiences that I went through, were much easier for me to write. The songs with a club/dance sound are more challenging to write but I love coming up with the concept of them.
What's coming up in the future?
Definitely some originals in the future!!! Can’t wait for my followers to hear. They will love them!
Tell us where fans can access your music?
They can listen to my music on all platforms.
It’s also both available on Apple Music, iTunes, SoundCloud, etc
