SuNee -10 Questions Interview

Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.

Yes. My mother inspired me as a child in the church choir. At the time the choir was so big, at least 50-100 people. That and the plays she was in made me fall in love with music and eventually I started writing.

Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?

The craziest thing I ever did was move to Florida. Not knowing anyone I was still able to show my talents to everyone here.

What has been the high point of your music path?

The highest point in my career was attending a competition to be in rolling loud. I didn’t win but I did open up for 24hrs and Quentin Miller

So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?

My favorite writing style that I use the most is freestyling and writing at the same time so I don’t forget what I said

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?

Life is full of challenges so add being an independent artist to the list. The only way the music industry can thrive is with pure talent. I think it turned to a popularity contest. They don’t care about music at all .

If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?

I’ll name a few: Tank and the bangers, Summer Walker, James Blake.

All of these artists have one thing in common. Pure talent and entertainment. That sounds like a great show to me.

What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?

Rehearsals are repetitive until I feel like it’s just right. I usually dance a lot to shake my nerves and forget about myself.

Pick one song that was your greatest challenge to write. Tell us about it!

Any song that I’m not on the chorus is a challenge because I have to tap into someone else’s idea or melody. I always execute my features.

What's coming up in the future?

My album titled Fill my Head is coming soon everywhere . I’ve also been doing some modeling and I still have music videos to drop also.
